Facial Recognition Operation in Southall Results in Multiple Arrests On Wednesday 12 August 2026, officers from Ealing Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), supported by Special Constables, conducted a Local Facial Recognition (LFR) operation in Southall. The operation formed part of ongoing proactive policing activity aimed at locating wanted individuals, bringing offenders before the courts, and protecting local communities from harm. The operation resulted in seven arrests, including individuals wanted on warrants and others who had failed to appear at court. The offences linked to those arrested included drug offences, burglary, theft, criminal damage, and grievous bodily harm (GBH). As part of the wider operation, officers also carried out three Registered Sex Offender compliance checks, alongside a number of stop and account encounters. These activities support the continued management and monitoring of offenders within the borough and contribute to safeguarding the public. This operation demonstrates Ealing NPT's commitment to using technology and intelligence-led policing to identify and locate wanted individuals, support the criminal justice process, and help make communities safer.
